About

Our History
Founded on June 1, 2013, VPS began as a grassroots student association at the greater Boston area. Under founding President Huynh The Du, a community of passionate Vietnamese students and young professionals came together with a shared vision.
Over 12 years, VPS has grown into a national network spanning 12 geographic regions across all 50 states. What started as a student support group has evolved into a professional association driving meaningful Vietnam–US collaboration.
In December 2025, the organization rebranded to The Association of Vietnamese Professionals and Students in the United States (VPS), with a renewed focus on professional development and strategic Vietnam–US partnership.
From a small circle to a national movement
It started in Boston in 2013. A handful of Vietnamese students and young professionals gathered around a shared feeling: that building something together is better than going it alone. Under founding president Du Huynh, they drew up a charter, set up regional chapters, and began quietly growing. Within a decade, that small circle had become a network spanning all 50 states, 12 geographic zones, and thousands of members across universities, research labs, government offices, and startups. The pandemic tested the organization, but it held. In 2025, VPS formally rebranded and refocused, leaning deeper into the professional world while keeping the same culture it was built on. The name changed. The mission did not.
