Loc Lam is a PhD candidate in Business Administration (specializing in Information Technology Management) at Shidler College of Business, University of Hawaii at Manoa. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Management, Environmental Economics and Political Science. He works as a lecturer at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he teaches undergraduate courses of Statistical Analysis for Business Decisions. He is currently the Vice President of the Vietnamese Student Association in Hawaii (VSAH).
He received several awards in the hackathon and business venture competitions, including the Best Novelty and Impact award in the IEEE Automatic Recording and Speech Recognition (ASRU) conference hackathon, the first prize in the UH Venture Competition, the first and second prize in the Medical Innovation and Design (MIND) competition, the Best University Project award in the Honolulu Tech Week hackathon, the Best Regional prize in the Energy TechUP competition (organized by DOE). He worked as the Director of the Kalo Grants program and helped distribute $24,000 funding to potential student startups. He attended the NSF i-Corps program and the Startup Launchpad program.
Loc has three Master degrees: a Master degree in Public Policy at Fulbright Economics Teaching Program, a Master degree in Banking and Finance at Monash University, and a Master degree in Economics at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
