About VPS

The Association of Vietnamese Professionals and Students in the United States (VPS) is a mission‑driven nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Vietnamese students and professionals, strengthening leadership development, and creating meaningful community impact across the United States.

VPS operates through collaborative, project‑based initiatives that connect students, professionals, and community leaders. We believe in inclusive leadership, cultural grounding, and translating shared vision into real‑world impact.

Now Recruiting: Volunteer Leadership Roles

All positions listed below are volunteer‑based and not Board of Directors roles. Roles are remote (U.S.‑based preferred) and offer flexible time commitments depending on organizational needs.

Executive Leadership Roles (Volunteer)

Deputy chiefs will support and work with chiefs to achieve goals of the offices

Chief/Deputy-Chief Operating Officer

Leads day‑to‑day operations and ensures effective execution of programs, initiatives, and internal processes.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Organizational operations and execution

  • Cross‑functional coordination

  • Operational systems, timelines, and risk management

Chief/Deputy-Chief Cultural Partnership Officer

Leads cultural alignment, community identity, and partnerships, ensuring VPS’s Vietnamese heritage and values are reflected across collaborations and activities.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Cultural stewardship and community representation

  • Strategic partnerships

  • Culturally responsive initiatives

Chief/Deputy-Chief Financial Officer

Ensures the financial integrity, transparency, and sustainability of VPS in accordance with nonprofit best practices and IRS requirements.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Budgeting and financial reporting

  • Compliance and internal controls

  • Financial planning and stewardship

Chief/Deputy-Chief Internal Affairs Officer

Oversees internal governance, organizational health, and people operations to ensure VPS operates smoothly, ethically, and transparently.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Internal policies and compliance

  • Volunteer onboarding and engagement

  • Organizational culture and internal systems

Chief/Deputy-Chief Strategic Officer

Leads strategic planning, impact evaluation, and long‑term growth to keep VPS mission‑focused and future‑oriented.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Strategic planning and analysis

  • Impact metrics and evaluation

  • Strategic decision support

Chief/Deputy-Chief Student Coordination Officer

Serves as the bridge between VPS and student communities, ensuring student voices and leadership development are fully integrated into the organization.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Student programming and chapters

  • Student representation and feedback

  • Student–professional collaboration

Chief/Deputy-Chief Technology Officer

Oversees VPS’s technology infrastructure, digital tools, and innovation strategy to enable efficient operations and scalable impact.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Digital platforms and systems

  • Data security and governance

  • Technology‑enabled growth

No prior nonprofit experience is required—commitment, collaboration, and alignment with VPS’s mission matter most.
