How to Take Ownership of Your Four Years in U.S. College?
College is often seen as a transformative chapter. Yet behind academic achievements and internship offers, many students quietly navigate uncertainty, changing interests, and questions about their future.
How do you choose the right major when your interests evolve? How do you navigate setbacks, career pivots, and unexpected opportunities? And what does it truly mean to take ownership of your college journey?
As part of the American Journey Series, VPS and APUS invite students, parents, and young professionals to join a special webinar featuring three Vietnamese professionals whose journeys reflect different paths toward growth and success.
Ms. Winnie Uyen Nguyen, now a Senior Data Engineer and Data Project Manager at Mastercard, began her college years exploring Computer Science, Economics, and broader questions about her future.
Mr. Khai Nguyen, currently a Ph.D. candidate in Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt University, discovered his passion for the field through a university course that changed the direction of his academic journey.
Mr. Nam Nguyen transformed his early interest in Physics and academic competitions into opportunities at Duke University and a highly competitive internship at Citadel Securities.
Despite their different fields and destinations, all three speakers share a common experience: learning how to make intentional decisions in the face of uncertainty.
Participants will gain practical insights into academic exploration, career development, navigating challenges, and building a proactive mindset for long-term success.
