
Thien Tran
Georgia Chapter Lead, Founder of PhD.Hub
Dr. Thien Tran is an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at Georgia Southern University. He earned his B.S. degrees in Civil Engineering and Construction Economics and Management from the University of Da Nang, Vietnam, an M.S. in Civil Engineering from Chonnam National University, South Korea, and both an M.Eng. in Materials Science and Engineering and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
His research focuses on sustainable construction materials, low-carbon cements, CO₂ capture, and geomaterials. He has authored more than 30 publications, including papers in leading journals such as Cement and Concrete Research, Construction and Building Materials, Transportation Research Record, and the ASCE Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering.
In addition to his academic work, Dr. Tran is the founder of PhD.Hub, a non-profit academic community supporting Vietnamese students and researchers worldwide. With more than 140,000 members, PhD.Hub provides scholarship guidance, academic networking, and educational support. Through its initiatives, hundreds of students have successfully secured PhD scholarships in the US and other developed countries.
